Nike Women’s Marathon!!!

Just Found out that there is a All Women Marathon Event...
Nike Women Marathon 2006... The race will kick off downtown in Union Square and will head through the Financial District past the famous TransAmerica building, along San Francisco Bay's Fisherman's Wharf, Aquatic Park, Ghirardelli Square, Fort Mason and Marina Green, while exposing breathtaking views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. The course then goes through the Presidio and Sea Cliff District, out to the Great Highway, through Golden Gate Park, and South around Lake Merced, finishing north of the Great Highway along the Pacific Ocean.
The All Women Marathon and half marathon start at 7 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2006.
Participants raise funds to help find cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma; in exchange, they receive free, personalized coaching, training clinics and the support and camaraderie of a team

Penang Bridge Marathon 2006!

The premier run in Malaysia to celebrate the 21st Anniversary of the opening of Penang Bridge, the Penang Bridge International Marathon, will be held on July 30, 2006 in the State of Penang.
Participants will be running over the third longest bridge in the world - the Penang Bridge - and along a scenic coastal highway........

Marathon Route : Starting from Sek. Kebangsaan Sg. Gelugor Penang, Tengku Kudin round-about, back to the starting point, on the Penang Bridge, U-turn at Prai Toll Plaza on the bridge, Bayan Lepas coastal highway, U-turn at Seagate, Bayan Lepas coastal highway and finishing at USM.

DO says " I was looking forward to do the Penang marathon in this beautiful Makan Paradise Island! It have been many years since i last visited Penang, i dearly missed the wonderful penang foods... hmm.... thinking abt them making feel very hungry.. penang laksa, penang style CKT, bean biscuits n many more yummy deliciously sinful foods! Due to my other commitments, i have to miss this year's race there, but i will make time to visit her and participate for her marathon race next yr! Please wait for me! "

My MK's Trip Afterthoughts!

Since Dream n Kops have written a very good n detailed trip of our just completed training n recce trip there... so i decided not to bore everyone with a similar FR!

"The Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon has made its reputation as "The World's Toughest Mountain Race" is a true challenge to the spirit of human endurance. The race involves running up and down Mt. Kinabalu (4095.2 m)- Malaysia's First World Heritage Site, a total distance of 21 KM for both Men and Women category." ...

The above caption is highlighted in the introduction at its website! After this recce trip in which i climbed up and back down the MK twice in 2 days.. onli NOW .. i can fully appreciate n understand why it is branded as " The World's Toughest Mountain Race"!

Here is a sample photographical illustrations of the terrains and conditions of the Race Route so that u can judge for yourself on the difficulties n dangers of running down such route! Hmm... advise me on how to run down the MK without breaking all my bones within the time limits for this " DareDevils Sky Runners" Race !!!
